1.WPF is a part of .net framework 3.0.Used to display (present) contents with gr8 look.
XAML is a markup lang used to create the user interface. This enables designers work easily on the look and feel of application
2.Since computers getting huge computing power along with excellent graphics cards ,and WPF is capable to work with those cards ,,the future is bright.
3.Cant comment on this because WPF is not yet released fully and there are no huge implementations using WPF.
4.You can give an excellent look and feel to your applications.U can deploy your applications through web(XBAP).if you use WPF/E u can target even linux users with almost all features of WPF.and much more.
5.The core is same as of .net2.0.They didnt add even a single new key word. The dependency properties, routed events etc are built on .net 2.0 itself.main diffs
    -Great 3D support
    -Excellent databinding
    -Templating & Styling

The complete rendering mechanism is based on Vista OS.
